Never too early to start the New Year, New Me chant. What if we were to change it up a little for 2021. What if I were to write New Year, New Us instead. How would that resinate with all of you?

To me, this year has taught us all a lot of things. Valuable lessons that only can be brought on by enduring some life changing experiences. The start of a new decade really put us all through the ringer.

COVID forced businesses to close down.

COVID forced families to stay apart in fear of contracting the virus.

COVID created a temporary layoffs and permanent unemployment.

COVID broke the social and economical status of not only our own country but the global stage.

2021 will allow businesses to grow.

2021 will bring families back together.

WE will allow our mental health to flourish.

WE will overcome the rocky start to 2021.

We will feel united once again.

This year is a two part project.

PART. 1: Individual Self Care

We need to take care of ourselves first and foremost. Take time to self reflect. What do you want to accomplish this coming year? Maybe you want to finish that novel you started reading months ago, maybe its learning how to cook new foods. You need to focus on what is important to you.

For me its my reading list, my blog and my career.

I want to read my entire collection of books throughout the year. I want to expand my creativity, my imagination and my knowledge.

With my blog I want to give you guys, my readers, more posts at a steady pace. Commit to a deadline every week to have a new post for you to enjoy.

My career, well what can I say, I need to push myself more to end up in five years. Here is hoping I give myself the encouragement I need to succeed.

PART 2: Community Care

The community is broken and is picking up its own pieces. We need to realize that some of us have so much and can give even more to those who need it most. Building a strong community only makes everyone stronger. No one suffers from building each other up.

Get involved, do your part, spread some joy to those who have suffered dearly during 2020.
